Something for my iPad

Nahkaa. Tämän ompelin käsin, kun ompelukoneeni ei suostutteluista huolimatta suostu upottamaan hampaitaan nahkaan. Nahan löysin aikoinaan Ikean löytöpisteestä, oli joku sohvanahkojen mallipala.

Loveable mittens

Kun aikoinaan tein Emmalle Naturwollen ihanasta Peru-langasta myssyn ja kaulahuivin, jäi lankaa ikävän kokoinen kerä jäljelle. Ikävä siksi, että lanka oli tyyristä ja halusin keksiä jotain hyödyllistä käyttöä sille. Emma käytti osan virkkausharjoituksiinsa, mutta lopulta pyysin kerän takaisin,kun halusin kokeilla näitä sydänlapasia. Yleensä nämä kai tehdään huovutusvillasta, mutta kai tämäkin lanka huopua osaa! Kuljetin siis lankaa mukana ja tein sillä muistaakseni joka viidennen silmukan. Söpöt tuli, ja tyttären mielestä ihanan pehmoiset sisältä.No varmasti ja ovat kyllä lämpöisetkin. Lankaa jäi kyllä vielä toisiinkin lapasiin, mutta nyt ei tuo kaunis kerä enää häiritse lankalaatikossa. Tiedän, että lopullekin löytyy varmasti käyttöä, vaikka sitten uusiin lapasiin.

I made Emma a hat and a scarf a few years ago from this lovely yarn by Naturwolle and had a lot of leftovers. The yarn was a bit expensive, so I really wanted to use all of it. Emma confiscated the leftovers to practise crocheting but in the end I reclaimed it to try to make these heart mittens. The mittens are very soft inside, and very warm. They are also very cute and Emma loves them! I did not manage to use all of the yarn, though - I still have enough yarn to make another pair, or something else.

 

Almost done

Varpaani ovat aina jäässä ja villasukkia käytän oikeastaan ihan aina. Yhdessä japanilaisessa virkkauskirjassa - tai itse asiassa samantyyppiset ole kahdessakin - oli ohje tällaisiin kotitossuihin. Näistä puuttuu vielä nahkapohjat ja lankojen päättely, niin ja toinen tossu on vielä kokoamattakin, mutta aika kivoilta näyttävät! Hieman vaikuttavat isoilta, toivottavasti eivät ole. Laitan tarkemmat tiedot, kunhan tossukat valmistuvat. Älkää pidätelkö hengitystä, nämä on aloitettu jo kesällä...

My toes are always freezing, so they are usually covered with wool socks. I saw this idea of crocheted home shoes in one of my Japanese crochet books - or actually the same idea was in two books. These home shoes are still missing the leather soles and the finishing touches but I already like the look of them! Although they do seem to be a bit big. I hope I am wrong, though... I'll post information about the Japanese crochet books as soon as I get these finished.

Himmelit

Tämä washiteippikokeilu on ollut mielessä jo pitkään. Alkuperäinen idea on Pari Ovea -blogista (http://pariovea.blogspot.fi/2012/12/19-himmeli-sittenkin.html), mutta koska teippaaminen oli niin kivaa ja yksi himmeli näytti niin orvolta, oli pakko tehdä toinenkin. Vähän ne on vinksallaan ja teippikin loppui kesken, tarkkasilmäisimmät saattavat tästä huonosta iPad-kuvasta bongata pilkullistakin teippiä... Tai sitten ei, kuva on kyllä luokattoman huono! Teippi on halpaa, Claes Ohlsonilta, 5,50 euroa per kolme rullaa eli täytyy hakea lisää :)

I have been meaning to try washi tapes for a really long tme. A whole ago I noticed this himmeli post in Pari Ovea blog ((http://pariovea.blogspot.fi/2012/12/19-himmeli-sittenkin.html) and was immediately inspired. Testing, testing

Epätoivo alkaa iskeä, kun tekisi mieli blogata, mutta aika ei meinaa riittää. Tai siis koneellaoloaika pitäisi varata kokonaan opiskelulle ja gradulle... Kokeilenpa siis iPadilla bloggausta, iPad kun ei aiheuta samanlaisia omatunnontuskia kuin läppäri. Vaikka kyllähän sen pitäisi, liikaa aikaahan tämäkin koje vie!

I'm feeling desperate. I want to blog but I just don't have the time. I should concentrate on my studies and thesis so every time I open my laptop, I feel very guilty if I don't study. Perhaps iPad is the solution, although I do believe that I spend way too much time on my iPad as well. I just don't feel guilty!

The picture is of an unfinished crocheted pouch. I should blog about the finished version as well...

Just dropping in...

Hei vaan, blogi jäi opiskelukiireissä tauolle ja eipä tuota aikaa vieläkään ole oikein muuhun kuin pakolliseen nyhräämiseen :) Jospa sitä syksymmällä taas aktivoituisi bloggaamaankin. Käsityöt ei kuitenkaan ole jääneet tekemättä, joku roti sentään. Kuvassa kasa joulu- ja vauvalahjoiksi päätyneitä bambeja, jostain melkein puolen vuoden takaa.

Hello hello, I'm still alive. I have been really busy with my studies and had to go on an involuntary blogging break. I am hopng to have more time for my blog after summer, but we will see. However, I have not stopped creating, that would be too much! These sleeping bambies were sewn as Christmas or baby gifts some six months ago...

En tarvitse keittiöpyyhkeitä, mutta pakkohan tämä oli kotiuttaa! Niin sievä ja takuuvarmasti käyttämätön, niin puhdas ja kirkkaanvärinen tämä oli. Saa nähdä teenkö tästä jotain vai säilytänkö ihan keittiöpyyhkeenä. Ehkä en raaski tätä leikellä, teen vaikka taulun :)

I just could not leave this to the thrift store! The colours are  so bright, I think this has never been used. I might use this in some way or just keep it and use it in the kitchen. Who knows!

An old project

 Siivosin vanhaa tietokonetta tyhjäksi kaikista kuvista, jospa ne vihdoin saisi arkistoitua johonkin muualle, koneesta kun on näyttö pimeänä. Löysin sieltä kuvia ajalta ennen blogia, kun tein Emma-vauvalle pinnasänkyyn katoksen. Pohjana on Ikean perusverhokatos ja päälle tein hupun vanhoista käytetyistä vauvaharsoista. Lisäksi reunaa kiertää silkkinauha johon kiinnitin topattuja harsosydämiä ja katoksen reunat on myös kantattu silkkinauhalla. Niin hempeää...

I was emptying my old laptop and found these old pictures. I made this canopy for Emma's crib when she was just a baby. I used Ikea's basic canopy and made a hood over it from old baby cotton reusable diapers. Sounds terrible but they were clean, I didn't use them as diapers, only as baby wipes! The rim is decorated with a silk ribbon and I added padded hearts to it as well. I lined the edges of the canopy with the same silk ribbon. Wasn't it so sweet?

Kids' party

Sukusynttäreiden lisäksi järjestettiin Emmalle myös kaverisynttärit.  Emma päätti kutsua kahdeksan läheisintä kaveriaan, joista noin puolet oli poikia. Olin etukäteen suunnitellut askartelujuttuja tytöille, joten jouduin aika pikaisesti miettimään jotain tekemistä myös pojille. Päädyin siihen, että kutsuilla voi tehdä joko oman hiuspannan tai sitten paperilennokkeja. Yllättäen lähes kaikki ihastuivat paperilennokkeihin ja halusivat testailla eri malleja. Printtasin ohjeet muutamaan eri lennokkimalliin ja tein koeversiot, joita lapset myös saivat kokeilla. Osa oli vähän haastavia, mutta onneksi mies oli mukana auttamassa, minun aikani kun meni hiuspantojen koristelijoiden apuna.

I organised an another birthday party for Emma's closest friends. She decided to invite 8 girls and boys. I had planned a craft especially for girls so I had to adjust my plans a bit. The children could either make their own headbands or try to make a paper airplane that flies faster and longer than others. Paper airplanes were a big hit, almost all the girls wanted to make them as well. I had printed instructions for a few models and made them as well and the children could decide which model they wanted to make. Some were a bit complicated so luckily my husband was also there to help them. I helped with the headbands.

Valitettavasti synttäritohinassa unohdin kameran kokonaan ja nämä kuvat on otettu ennen vieraiden tuloa puhelimella. En viitsinyt leipoa synttäreille kakkua, kun se ei ole koskaan lapsille maittanut. Sen sijaan leivoin mokkapaloja ja muut tarjoilut hoiti kaupan herkkutiskit: karkkia, avaruuskeksejä ja sipsejä. Perinteiset cocktail-tikut kuitenkin tein ja ne menivätkin kaikki!

Unfortunately I only took pictures of food and the gift boxes. I only baked one chocolate pie for the party, since I knew the kids would not eat cake, they never have even tasted it. Everything else was store bought and full of additives and sugar. Oh, and I also made the cocktail bites with sausages, tomatoes and cheese. They were a big hit. 

Lahjalaatikot löysin puoli-ilmaiseksi Tiimarin alesta ja laitoin niin tytöille rannerenkaat ja pojille Spiderman-jojot. Kaikissa bokseissa oli myös glitteritatskoja, merirosvo- ja kukka-aiheisia sekaisin molemmilla. Lähtiessää lapset saivat vielä tunkea bokseihinsa niin paljon herkkuja pöydstä kuin sinne mahtui, saatiin kupit kätevästi tyhjiksi eikä jämiä jäänyt!

The gift boxes included a cute bracelet for girls and Spiderman yoyos for the boys. All children got a few temporary tattoos (glittery ones) which always seem to be a big hit. When the left, they could also grab some sweets from the table to their gift box so we ended up with no leftovers!

Vintage roses

Tässä muutamia kirpparilöytöjä parin viikon takaa.  Ihastuin tuohon keltapohjaiseen ruusupöytäliinaan ja näen jo silmissäni sen mekon minkä siitä teen Emmalle. Boden tekee ihania mekkoja, juuri tuollaisia hieman vanhanaikaisia ja Emma on kulkenut kaikki tämän kesän juhlat yhdessä Bodenin mekossa.

Sinivalkoruudullinen kangas on oikeasti tyynyliina. Siitä aion ehkä tehdä jonkinlaisen pussukan, tai sitten en. Kangas on hyvälaatuista, pehmoista puuvillaa, joten se kelpaisi sellaisenaankin käyttöön.

Ostin myös virkattuja pitsiliinoja. En tosiaan tarvitsisi niitä yhtään, mutta kun eihän niitä voinut jättää kirppikselle, niin halpoja ja ihania olivat. Löysin myös hieman isomman, mintunvihreän, ihana sekin.

Look what I found from fleamarket! I love the yellow rose table cloth, it reminded me of a dress I bought from Boden for Emma at the beginning of summer. I think next summer this fabric will become a dress as well. 

The blue and white fabric is a pillowcase. I might make some kind of a pouch of it or then I'll just keep it as it is. It is very soft, good quality cotton. 

I also bought some doilies, also a mint coloured one. I think I have enough of them but when I see cheap handmade doilies, I just can't leave them there...

Yellow tablecloth: 2 euros

Friendship bracelets

Kaapista löytyi pussillinen kirjontalankoja. Pakkohan se oli kokeilla onnistuuko rannekorujen teko vielä näin vuosien tauon jälkeen. Alussa pientä haparointia (huomaako kuvasta minkä näistä tein ensimmäisenä? :D) mutta sitten alkoi sujua. Piti vielä tehdä Emmalle nimiranneke, mutta innostus meni jo. Kai nämäkin kelpaavat!

I found a bag full of embroidery threads in my stash so I just had to try whther I still remember how to make friendship bracelets. Turns out I didn't but luckily there are excellent instructions all over the internet. Guess which one of these I made first? It kind of shows... I was also planning to make a bracelet with Emma's name on it but then I lost my inspiration and just couldn't be bothered. Perhaps later?

Tutu lamp, v.2.0

Tein makkarin tutulampusta uuden, rauhallisemman version. Pientä hienosäätöä ja saksia se vielä vähän vaatii, mutta muuten se näyttää kyllä juuri sellaiselta kuin halusinkin. Mies piti edellisestä versiosta enemmän, minä tästä :)

I made another, more classic version of our bedroom lamp. I think I might need to trim it a bit more but otherwise this looks just the way I envisioned it. My husband liked the first version better, I love this one.

Panda tunic

Pattern: Panda-tunika by Novita (in Finnish)

Needles: circular knitting needles, sizes 6 and 7, crochet hook size 3.5

Tästä tuli täydellinen! Hiukan mietitytti nuo Novitan langat, kun olisin halunnut tehdä tämän jostain ihanasta, pehmoisesta villalangasta, mutta eipä nuo tekokuidut tässä haittaa. Malli on täydellinen Emmalle, mokoma kuumakalle kun ei todellakaan suostu talvella pitämään villapaitoja päällä, joten lyhyet hihat toimivat. Alle vaan ohut pitkähihainen sitten pakkasilla. Helmasta pidän erityisesti, se on kaunis ja käytännöllinen. Ihana, ihana, ihana! Ja Emmakin tykkäsi, mikä taitaa olla se pääasia.

I love this tunic! I was planning to change the suggested yarns to something more luxurious but I am happy that I didn't. The yarns are just right for this project. The shape of this tunic is perfect for my girl, since she is always hot and refuses to wear anything too warm in the winter. Now she can just put a long sleeve tee underneath when it gets really cold. I especially like the hemline, it is pretty and practical at the same time. Did I already mention that I LOVE this tunic? I do, I do, I do! And so does Emma.

Emma 7 years

Emma täytti 7 vuotta muutama viikko sitten. Erillistä juhlamekkoa en ommellut, sillä häähumussa ei siihen ollut aikaa eikä kyllä tarvettakaan. Emma itse halusi ehdottomasti laittaa päälleen Unikko-mekon. Mikäpä siinä :)

Emma had her 7th birthday a few week's back. I did not sew her a new party dress this year since she insisted on wearing her Unikko dress. I didn't mind at all...

Kakusta olen hurjan ylpeä, ensimmäistä kertaa kaulin kakun päälle sokerikuorrutteen ja siitä tuli ihan ok. Tuo hassu ruusu on kakun sivussa piilottamassa kuorrutteessa olevaa isoa reikää :D Kakun päällä on mini-Smarties-rakeita ja sisältö varsin suklainen, aprikoosihillolla ja kermavaahdolla. Kakkukynttilät ja niiden pidikkeet ovat säästyneet omasta lapsuudestani, äitini kätköistä löytyivät jo pari vuotta sitten.

I am very proud of my cake, since it was the first time ever I used sugar icing in a cake and the end result was quite ok. The funny flower on the side of the cake is covering a huge hole in the icing! I used mini Smarties to decorate the cake and the cake itself is a chocolate cake, filled with apricot jam and whipped cream. The candles and candle holders are from my own childhood. My mon gave them to me a few years back, she keeps everything!

Yllättävä hitti synttäreillä oli numerotikkarit, kaikki lapset halusivat syödä oman ikänumeronsa. Onneksi oli paljon eri-ikäisiä lapsia! Seiskat tein valkosuklaasta, muut numerot tummasta ja maitosuklaasta.

Kids loved the chocolate numbers I made and everyone wanted to eat their own age number. Luckily the kids were all different ages! Sevens I made from white chocolate, others are either dark or milk chocolate.

Lisäksi tarjottiin porkkanapiirakkamuffinsseja, karviaispiirakkaa (josta unohtui sokeri, minkä huomasin vasta sitten kun piirakka ei kenellekään kelvannut...) ja macaroneja (Pirkan pakastetuote, suosittelen! Ihanat värit!). Oli meillä suolaisiakin tarjottavia: minihodareita, ranskalaista maalaissalaattia, karjalanpiirakoita ja munavoita  ja lohipiirasta, mutta unohdin kuvata ne siinä kahvinkeiton tohinassa. Kaiken kaikkiaan kivat juhlat!

I also made carrot cake cupcakes and goosberry pie and bought some macarons, because they were so pretty. We also served French style salad, mini hot dogs and salmon pie but I forgot to take pictures of those. All in all, we had a fun party!

Snow White

Tein tämän prinsessakoltun Emmalle viime vuonna ja unohdin sen esitellä blogissa. Yläosa on tehty vanhasta kauluspaidasta ja alosaan ostimme Emman kanssa yhteistuumin varsin kiiltävää polyesterisatiinia. Kelpasi Emmalle, todellakin, ja oli hyvin hyvin halpaa. Harmin paikka, että mekko on jo jäänyt pieneksi... Mekon alla on tyllihame kohottamassa pitkää ja runsasta satiinihametta.

I made this princess dress for Emma last year and just forgot to show it here in my blog. The bodice is made from an old shirt of mine and the yellow fabric is polyester satin, very cheap and VERY shiny. Emma loves it. Too bad the dress won't fit her anymore!

Flower girls' dresses

Elokuun alussa rakas ystäväni meni naimisiin ja pyysi morsiusneidoiksi Emman ja erään toisen rakkaan ystävänsä tyttären. Häiden teemana oli Suomi ja meri, joten väreinä oli lipunsininen ja valkoinen. Koska morsiusneitojen mekkojen yhteinen pähkäily oli varsin haasteellista, toinen neidoista kun asustaa New Yorkissa, lupauduin tekemään tytöille mekot juhliin. Ensimmäinen ehdotus meni läpi, mekot tehtiin sini-valkoisesta Marimekon Unikko-kankaasta, sillä sitä suomalaisempaa kuosia ei varmasti ole. Sattumalta tytöt olivat mitoiltaan melkein samankokoiset, joten ompeleminen oli nopeaa ja helppoa, kerrankin!

Mekon kaava on mukaelma vanhasta mekosta ja yläosa on vuorattu. Alla on tyllialushame ja taakse kietaistu iso rusetti. Tyttöjen unelmamekko siis!

My dear friend got married at the beginning of August and asked my daughter and another friend's girls to be her flower girls. The theme of the wedding was Finland and the sea, so the colours were bright blue and white. It was a bit difficult to coordinate the flower girl dresses, since the other girl lives in New York, so I offered to make the dresses. I suggested the fabric for the dresses and the bride loved it - there is nothing that epitomizes Fnland more than Marimekko's Unikko fabric. Luckily the girls were almoist identical in sizes, so cutting the fabric and sewing was a breeze.

The pattern of the dress is taken from an old dress of Emma's and the bodice is lined. There is a tulle skirt underneath and a big bow in the back. Every little girl's dream dress, isn't it!

Juhlat pidettiin Sirpalesaaressa Helsingin edustalla. Paikka on upea, suosittelen ehdottomasti hääpaikan etsijöille! Kauniit maisemat, erinomainen ruoka ja taitava ja ystävällinen henkilökunta, mitään huonoa sanottavaa ei paikasta ole. Eräs tarjoilijoista jopa viihdytti lapsia piirtämällä heidän kanssaan illallisen aikana, niin me aikuiset saimme syödä rauhassa. Lapset viihtyivät kallioilla, tosin siellä oli pakko vähän vahtia touhuja, meri kun oli pulahtamisetäisyydellä.

The party was held in Sirpalesaari, an island in frontside of Helsinki. Beautiful place, breathtaking views, delicious food and very special staff, I have nothing but praise for the place. One of the waiters actually spent some time drawing with the kids so that we could eat our dinner in peace - priceless! Kids loved the cliffs, although someone had to be watching them all the time, the sea was a bit too close :)

Bonuksena häävalokuviin ilmestyi joutsenpari poikasineen! Uskomattoman hieno yllätys :)

As if the place itself wasn't beautiful enough, a pair of white swans came to greet the wedding couple just when their pictures were being taken! How awesome is that!

Kuvia tuli otettua miljoona, suurin osa huonoja näillä kuvaustaidoilla. Onneksi ystäväni otti meistä muutaman perhepotretin muistoksi. Tilannekuviltakaan ei vältytty, tässä tiiraillaan upeaa vanhaa purjelaivaa, joka ei kyllä kuvassa näy :) 

Ei muuten värikoodattu asujamme ollenkaan. Itse asiassa tein itselleni tummansinisen pellavamekon näitä häitä varten, mutta jotenkin kummassa onnistuin laihtumaan ennen häitä sen verran, että mekko roikkui päällä ja tuli kiire mekkokauppaan. Hyvä juttuhan se kai on, mutta hieman harmitti!

I took a gazillion pictures but most of them were really bad. Luckily a friend of ours took a family portrait of us and also a few actions shots. Here we are looking at an old ship, which isn't shown on a photo. And no, we were not colour coordinated and I did not make my own dress. Actually I made one dress (navy linen, very chic) a month before the wedding and managed to loose some weight so that the dress was too big on the wedding day. Oh well...

Peach

Persikka, uusi lempivärini. Löysin kirppikseltä nämä Sandnes Garnin ihanat puuvillalangat ja nyt pää sauhuaa virkkausideoita. Jätin ostamatta samasta kojusta beiget langat ja nyt harmittaa: aika huikea kasariyhdistelmä tuo beige ja persikka! Voi kyllä olla, että olisi ollut jo liian hailakka (tai tunkkainen!) yhdistelmä minun makuuni...

Peach - my new favourite colour. I found these Sandnes Garn yarns from a flea market and got really inspired to crochet something from these. The same seller also had beige yarn but I left the skeins there and now I feel like kicking myself. Beige and peach would have been an awesome eighties combo! But then again, perhaps that combo would have been a bit too stuffy for my taste...

A new shopper

Löysin Marimekon Maalaisruusu-kappaverhon UFFista ja pakkohan siitä oli tehdä tällainen sievä kauppakassi. Taidanpa tehdä toisenkin, sillä tämä menee äidilleni lahjaksi.

I found this Marimekko fabric (Maalaisruusu) from a charity shop. It is actually a curtain but I have no need for such curtains - I just could not leave the fabric behind, since it was cheap and pretty. So, it became a shopping bag. I might just do another one, since I am giving this to my mom.

Sewing leather, part 2

Siitä lähtien, kun ensimmäisen kerran näin Andy Torresin (Style Scrapbookin bloggari) DIY clutchin, on mieleni tehnyt omaa laukkusta. Viimein laukunompeluun löytyi aikaa ja vielä kun onnistuin saamaan hyvän vision valmiista clutchista niin pakkohan sitä oli kokeilla. Helppoa ja nopeaahan tämä olisi ollut, jos ompelukone olisi suostunut arvostamaan nahkaa materiaalina. Kun ei yhteistyö sujunut, niin jouduin sitten ompelemaan koko laukun käsin. Sormenpäät kiitteli jälkikäteen... Ja jälki on vähintäänkin epämääräistä.

I have been thinking about sewing a leather clutch ever since I first saw this post by Andy Torres from Style Scrapbook blog. Finally I had some time and a clear vision of the finished product in my mind to actually make one. Easy, if you don't take into account the countless hours cursing my new(ish) sewing machine which seems to hate leather. So I hand-stitched the whole clutch and if you look closer you will see the uneven stitches... 

Visioni sanelemana etsin neonpinkkiä vetoketjua, mutta sepä osoittautuikin haasteelliseksi. Lopulta löysin yhdestä tukusta tarvitsemani kokoiset vetoketjut kymmenen kappaleen paketissa. Pakkohan ne oli ostaa!

I wanted a neon pink zipper which was really hard to find anywhere. Then when I found the zippers, I had to buy 10 since they were not sold individually. Oh well... I bought them anyway!

Andyn clutch oli täydellisen kokoinen, joten seurasin Andyn ohjeita ja kaivelin lehtitelineestä sopivankokoista lehteä malliksi. Meinasi epätoivo iskeä, kun edellisessä siivousurakassa olin heittänyt kaikki lehdet mäkeen. Sitten välähti: kasarilehtien jemmasta löytyisi varmasti joku sopiva. Niinpä löytyikin, Hermèsin kuvasto 1987-1988 ja Vogue vuodelta 1987. Vogue oli täydellinen!

I wanted my clutch the same size as Andy's so I dived into my magazine rack to find a right size magazine to use as a measure. Unfortunately I just threw away most of my magazines since they tendto take so much space and I only had some Ikea and H&M catalogs left. Those were too small. Then I remembered my stash of 80's magazines and found the perfect magazines there: Hermès catalogue from 1987-1988 and a Vogue from 1987. The Vogue was just the perfect size.

Kuten jo mainitsin, ompeleminen oli tuskallista.  Hienossa koneessani ei näköjään pysty säätelemään alalangan kireyttä, joten hieman meni arpomiseksi oikeat säädöt. Eikä ne säädöt kohdilleen osuneetkaan, jälki oli kamalaa suttua.

Tasselin tein Burdastylen ohjeiden mukaan. Erinomaiset ohjeet, vaikka en sitten jaksanutkaan enää ommella vaan turvauduin liimaan.

As I already mentioned, sewing was a pain this time. Apparently it is not possible to adjust the tension of the bobbin in my machine, which really sucks.I still tried but the stitches were really bad and tangled so I had to revert to handstitching.

The tassel is made by loosely following the instructions here. Excellent instructions, although I just used glue instead of stitches.

Mitä mieltä olette clutchista? Kehtaisiko tämä kainalossa kulkea julkisissa paikoissa? Tavallaan tykkään tästä, mutta sitten taas toisaalta epätasainen ompelujälki häiritsee...

So, what do you think? Can I actually use this or does it look too homemade? I kind of like it but then again, I cannot get past the uneven stitches...

Last minute gift wrap

Meiltä ei löytynytkään sopivaa lahjapaperia, joten kääräistiin synttärilahja jumppapussiin :) Valehtelematta tämän tekemiseen meni viisi minuuttia - sakset vaan suhisi ja ompelukone kehräsi. Ei ollut enempää aikaa, joten se käytettiin mitä oli. Ja Emma ehti synttäreille ajoissa, kerrankin!

We didn't have suitable gift wrap, so I decided to make a pouch for the present. This really was a last minute project - I only had  five minutes to cut and sew! But we managed to get Emma to the birthday party on time, which must be a record in itself (we are always late...)!
